Senior Portfolio Management Support Associate - Boston - hybrid
Description
The individual in this role should have a broad understanding of the investment industry and a firm grasp on the trading and valuation requirements for hedge funds, private equity investments, equities, futures, FX and derivatives trading operations.
Portfolio Management Support – 70%
- Own maintenance of vehicles Investment Book of Record (IBOR) with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness of data using current technology and tools.
- Collect investment data and capture within the established deadlines for the assigned investment products, including daily cash reconciliations.
- Reconcile IBOR to Administrators and work with internal operations teams for discrepancy resolution.
- Calculate and propose trades to support FX and share class hedging on a monthly basis and ad-hoc as needed.
- Assist with calculating proposed month end trades based on projected cash flows for each vehicle.
- Represent the investment team working cross-functionally to enact vehicle structure changes and new share class or product launches.
- Manage each vehicle’s participation in capacity-constrained situations, in compliance with internal allocation process.
- Assist with liquidity and cash management for managed vehicles, including managing lending facility usage.
- Coordinate completion of investment documents to establish new trading relationships such as ISDA agreements or new separately managed accounts.
- Ensure IBOR reflects the latest weekly and monthly performance estimates for each vehicle based on updated manager data.
- Maintain and develop standardized recurring reporting for each vehicle.
Projects – 30%
- Deliver a successful operational model to support go-live of the new portfolio and order management software being onboarded in H2, working closely with the Investment Data & Reporting Team Leader.
- Define and test development requirements in the firm’s portfolio management system, working with team leader and external vendors to refine and sign off on agreed delivery.
Qualifications / Attributes
- 3+ years of experience in investment operations and understanding of trading and reconciliation functions.
- Demonstrated interest in investments and commitment to continued learning.
- Experience working on high-visibility projects.
- Strong quantitative skills and attention to detail.
- Undergraduate degree with strong track record of academic achievement.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- An intellectually curious self-starter who is energized by contributing to the success of the business.
- Technical skills such as PowerBI, SQL and Excel macros is a plus.
- An MBA or progress toward a CFA or CIPM is a plus.
- Experience in system transition or UAT experience.
Estimated Min Rate: $77,000.00
Estimated Max Rate: $110,000.00
