Job Requirements / Description

We are a fully remote team and encourage applicants to apply from anywhere in the U.S

Are you passionate about using words to change the world? Would you like to use your love of language and communication skills for a global nonprofit focused on social change?

We are seeking a Communications Manager who is ready to channel their skills for kindness.org, a nonprofit on a mission to educate and inspire people to choose kindness. Through scientific research, education, and storytelling, we help changemakers choose and cultivate kindness. Starting on day one, you'll be an integral part of showing that kindness is an essential ingredient in social change

You will own all aspects of how we show up in the world across our website, media, social, and all related communication materials. Your role will help show kindness as a choice anyone can make, and demonstrate that even small acts can have a big impact.

Our ideal candidate is an autonomous self-starter with experience working with and relating to leading communications. You care deeply about transforming our world to become a kinder place—and you believe that telling a powerful and clear story is key to achieving success.

You should apply if:

  • You’re an innovative self-starter and problem-solver
  • You’re a curious learner
  • You thrive in small, startup environments
  • You step up with your own creative ideas and suggestions
  • You’re an expert at all things copy
  • You respect the importance of a cohesive content strategy
  • You are comfortable being the connective tissue between many stakeholders, vendors, and leaders
  • You are excited to take a concept like kindness and elevate the conversation about its importance and potency in social change
  • You share our commitment to a kinder world

What you’ll do to make an impact:

  • Develop content and direct creative execution to provide a consistent, targeted, and impactful message.
  • Build and maintain solid partnerships with assigned internal clients to better develop, coordinate, direct, and facilitate strategic communications designed to meet business goals.
  • Design campaigns to target specific audiences, placing an emphasis and discipline on campaign performance to help with recommendations for future programs.
  • Direct in-house and external graphic designers, photographers, and other media-production specialists integral to the completion of marketing projects.
  • Produce all email campaigns, soliciting content from internal sources, and manage review, testing, and sending.
  • Lead digital execution—across email, website, and social media—of fundraising and engagement campaigns throughout the year.
  • In collaboration with our Director of Social Media, you’d support social media campaigns for key days, themes, and priority upcoming content.
  • Create and update marketing materials and documents in support of fundraising, donor stewardship, and programs.
  • Maintain internal calendar and assist the Executive Team with internal communications.
  • Create style guides and brand voice outlines for all public relations, marketing, advertising and other vital departments
  • Draft press releases and speeches following organizational news
  • Communicate with media outlets and journalists and create press kits

Benefits package offered, including healthcare, 403(b), and competitive vacation policy.

We believe kindness transcends race, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, and socioeconomic status. As we grow, we are committed to reflecting our values across company culture.

We can’t wait to meet you.
