YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Summary:
ThePayroll Administrator is responsible for administering payroll, ensuring thatall processes are executed timely and accurately in compliance to state andfederal laws, compiling various information, generating ad-hoc reports, andproviding analysis of trends. Operatesas the subject matter expert and escalation point to resolve issues andcontinuously looks for improvements in operational processes and designs andimplements those initiatives.
Job Description:

  • Manage and process full cycle ownership of weekly and/or bi-weekly payroll for 700 employees throughout multiple states and FEIN's utilizing Ceridian Dayforce, including union and non-union employees
  • Acts as primary payroll contact, working cross-functionally with other departments and supervisors, to proactively resolve potential pay and timecard discrepancies
  • Process and respond to child support, tax levies, and other wage garnishments
  • Process manual termination checks of final wages complying with state final pay laws
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all federal and state wage and labor laws
  • Reconciles and transmits payment of union dues, union health & welfare, and union pension to corresponding union locals, as required
  • Develops and oversees pre- and post-payroll auditing procedures, troubleshoots issues and implements corrective actions, eliminating the root cause of issues as needed
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting
  • Gather and process qualitative and quantitative data around jobs, compensation and employment trends
  • Act as local project lead for payroll and timekeeping software upgrades, payroll implementations, and other key human resources initiatives
  • Prepare various ad-hoc reports for department, managers, headquarters and provide analysis as needed
  • Conduct payroll and/or timekeeping training for newly hired and/or promoted supervisors
  • Troubleshoot any technical Dayforce issues with managers as needed

  • Assists with additional projects, as assigned
YOUR PROFILE
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from four-year college or technical school preferred
  • 4+ years experience in high volume, multi-state payroll and timekeeping administration required, preferably using Ceridian Dayforce
  • Prior experience in warehouse, production, and/or distribution environment preferred
  • Thorough understanding of the importance of customer service and the ability to work cooperatively with other branches, departments, and employees at all levels.
  • Must be able to multitask, prioritize and problem solve.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel, and be able to comfortably execute intermediate Excel skills such as V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, and basic "IF" formulas.
  • Ability to interface and communicate well at the corporate level both oral and written.
  • Ability to build positive work relationships and gain influence with employees at all levels.
  • Thorough understanding of federal and statutory laws, company policies and procedures.
