This Role

You and your design team will distill sophisticated problems and propose clear, efficient, consistent solutions. System-thinking is central to this role. You're meticulous and excited about appealing design, but most of all you relish the potential of design to establish patterns that deliver consistent and engaging experience at scale. Compassion plays a key role in your design approach. You're a dedicated advocate for the end user and unwavering in your desire to provide digital experiences that hold real value. Additionally, you take pride in finding design solutions that enable your colleagues and team to do their best work. You maintain a comprehensive design vision and strive to establish a gestalt that spans multiple systems and processes.

Enjoys creating experiences with technology, focusing on new projects, and intensely working on high-value, critical initiatives under tight time constraints. You will have direct access to customer executives and Salesforce executive management while working closely with other teams within the Marketing organization. You must have excellent interpersonal skills, energy, and thoughtfulness to build and deliver the best in the world for our customers!

Responsibilities

  • Influence and compellingly communicate the vision to a wide variety of key partners
  • Champion a cross-disciplinary network of user-focused authorities including Brand Creative, Accessibility, Experimentation, Content Strategy, UX Research, and Taxonomy
  • Apply a systems-centric approach to land on UX solutions that scale across multiple use cases and channels
  • Build positive relationships across teams, such as Product, Engineering, and Marketing
  • Strategize with Product on opportunities to extend design patterns and features and validate assumptions through user testing and research
  • Synthesize cross-disciplinary feedback and POVs to drive consensus and tackle multiple problems with a cohesive design solution
  • Work closely with Engineering creating impactful, efficient implementations that deliver exceptional user experiences
  • Work with Product, Engineering and QA to deliver a polished final product
  • Evangelize system guidelines and design patterns
  • Manage and develop a team that includes both internal and agency/vendor designers

Experience / Skills Required

  • 7-10 years experience designing and delivering products in cross-functional teams from concept to release
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design methods and standard methodologies — and you’re always looking to improve your process
  • Ability to work as part of a scrum delivery team, delivering design work in an agile way that aligns with engineering timelines
  • Power to influence others and build consensus, while dealing with ambiguity
  • Self-motivated, a good communicator, and able to balance phenomenal design with tight turnaround times
  • Experience using analytics, user research, and other approaches to help make decisions and iterate on the product
  • A deep appreciation and talent for simple solutions to complex problems
  • Experienced knowledge of current design tools such as Figma, along with an ability to quickly learn new tools as they emerge
  • BA/BS or MA/MS in design related field, or equivalent experience

Bonus

  • Experience working on design problems that serve internal and external audiences simultaneously
  • Experience with CRM or enterprise software

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $193,200 to $280,200.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $193,200 to $305,600.
