The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is currently seeking an Account Manager to join our team of professionals.
Duties include:
- Works with the Director of Media and Community to execute a marketing and communications plan in support of the colleges and university's strategic goals. Works with the FIU Division of External Relations, Strategic Communications, and Marketing to recommend and coordinate opportunities for earned and paid media placement.
- Responsible for generating content for stories and communications for HWCOM: Works with faculty, students, alumni, and marketing staff to identify and execute timely, relevant story opportunities. This includes creating and writing content for all HWCOM digital and social media platforms and central FIU venues. Assists with other printed and online materials, including photos, videos, and graphics, as required.
- Assists in preparing, designing, and laying out newsletters, annual reports, brochures, etc. Serves as editor and coordinator of the college's Pulse newsletter.
- Oversees the postings and content of the Social Media Manager to ensure accuracy.
- Supervises the maintenance of all social media and website content for HWCOM. Works with HWCOM departments and units to ensure the website content is current and serves as liaison with FIU Digital Communications to carry out updates and optimize the website.
- Handles confidential matters concerning the untimely disclosure of which would be detrimental.
- Performs other related duties as required or as directed by the Director for Media and Community Relations and the Dean of the College of Medicine. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning tasks related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Media/Public Relations, Communications or appropriate degree and three (3) years of experience in a related field.
Departmental Requirements
Ability to work flexible hours as needed. Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and at locations outside the University.
Desired Qualifications
Strong writing and editing skills. Knowledge of AP style. Knowledge of social media and website content creation/strategy. Basic knowledge of Photoshop, Canva, Hootsuite, and Mailchimp (or other email marketing platform). Experience with web development.
