Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for the delivery of care to patients in accordance with physician’s orders, including health maintenance, episodic and chronic care to the adolescent, adult, and elder population of the Harvard community according to department guidelines, policies and procedures. S/he will review medical records for pertinent previous and current medical information, interview patients for assessment of current problems, medications and allergies, administer medications according to policy and procedure, and identify acute versus emergency situations and respond to emergencies according to policy.
The RN will document all care provided in a concise and complete manner. S/he must have the ability to organize tasks, solve problems, and respond in a calm, purposeful and pleasant manner in times of multiple demands and emergency situations. Must also adhere to the expectations and professional responsibilities of the department, and comply with training requirements including HIPAA Privacy and Security. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, 3-5+ years of experience and previous medical-surgical experience and IV Therapy skills.
This is a temporary float position which involves floating to the Urgent Care department and Internal Medicine main site and the satellite clinics.

Telephone Triage
Manages secure message inboxes
In-person triage
Provides follow-up care and consultation
Provide support to clinical staff based on clinic demands
Reviews and acts on test results (labs, x-ray)
Reviews and manages communications from interdisciplinary team Initiates and
monitors intravenous (IV) infusions
Assists or performs procedures (e.g., ECGs, dressing changes, subcutaneous or intra-
muscular injections, etc.)
Provides patient education
Assists with medication management
Provides support with Coumadin Management as needed
Completes accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
Assists with management of urgent and emergent patient care situations
Serves as a mentor and resource to others
Assists with the coordination of care across the continuum of care
Assists with the management of patients with multiple chronic health
conditions, acute episodes of care, behavioural health challenges while
promoting and supporting prevention and wellness
May float to other clinics as needed
Other duties as assigned
