Pay range: $75,000.00 USD per year.

Overview

The Operations Manager directs and coordinates all Ground Handling activities to provide fast and efficient services for customers by performing duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. The Operations Manager will be responsible for all Ramp Services, Passenger Services, and Aircraft Fueling (ITP), ensuring that the delivery of service is consistent, professional, safe, and secure. This role requires a seasoned senior manager with a strong operational and business understanding and leadership skills. The incumbent must have the ability to run a business in a challenging environment while maintaining strict Menzies Corporate Governance and Financial guidelines.

Main Accountabilities Include

  1. Fully responsible for all aspects of the station. Services offered at the station include Ramp and Passenger Services, Aircraft Fueling (ITP), and GSE services.
  2. Reviews data on incoming flights such as scheduled or estimated times of arrival or departure, destinations, and downline station stops to plan work activities.
  3. Directs and coordinates all operations functions and ensures workers and equipment are available for all services.
  4. Analyzes reports and records of operations and inspects facilities to determine the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures and the physical condition of facilities and equipment.
  5. Prepares and submits recommendations designed to improve the efficiency of all services.
  6. Investigates causes of accidents and recommends safety measures for preventing further occurrences.
  7. Leads and works with the senior team to maintain and enhance appropriate, effective safety & security systems, risk assessments, periodical inspections & audits, operational training programs, planning, operational processes, and service delivery.
  8. Regularly interacts with customers to promote the station and to measure the level of customer satisfaction.
  9. Uses customer feedback to constantly develop and improve capabilities and processes.
  10. Implements company policies and procedures, promoting sound safety, security, and people management practices.
  11. Promotes and drives a ‘safety first’ culture through all levels of the organization.
  12. Ensures the business unit remains fully compliant with internal standards and all relevant industry, regulatory, and state legislated requirements.
  13. Leads and motivates hardworking teams to deliver excellent quality and productivity.
  14. Safety and security are the responsibility of each employee.
  15. Required to attend the mandatory training imposed by the Company and Airlines as per job role.
  16. Maintains all equipment records and monitors vehicle registration and hour meter program.
  17. Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  18. Acts as a mentor to other employees and provides training to new employees.
  19. Some responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems as needed for violations of company policy.
  20. Completes shift reports and signs timecards.
  21. Assists in the preparation of performance evaluation forms.
  22. Prepares disciplinary incident and/or termination reports.
  23. Conducts shift briefings to ensure staff is organized and informed.
  24. Complies with the company’s attendance/tardiness standards.
  25. Other duties may be assigned.

  7. Carry out work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific workplace health and safety rules or procedures.
  8. Fully understand the company health and safety policy.
  9. Attend training courses as may be arranged by the Company.

Qualifications And Experience

  1. Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  2. Extensive management and/or support service experience, preferably in in-to-plane fueling, Ramp Handling, and Cargo.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills balanced with a high level of confidence to influence and present at all levels.
  4. Independence, decisiveness, and the ability to work accurately and independently of immediate support.
  5. Able to influence, engage, and motivate at all levels.
  6. Flexible, determined to succeed, and self-motivated.
  7. All applicants must hold the requisite employment authority to work in the USA.
  8. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  9. Must pass pre-employment physical test and a drug screen.
  10. Must have a current valid US driver’s license.
  11. Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak English.
  12. Able to remain calm under pressure.
  13. Must be comfortable lifting 70lbs.
  14. Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
  15. Must pass FBI background check and obtain US Customs seal.
  16. Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
