Applications Engineer – Custom Automation Machinery

About the Role:
Are you ready to collaborate with some of the brightest engineers in the automation industry? As an Applications/Quoting Engineer , you’ll be at the forefront of developing custom integrated automation systems. This role combines technical expertise with creative problem-solving to generate innovative solutions for our customers. You'll develop accurate budgets, outline key project concepts, and ensure that every detail is covered to deliver world-class automation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design conceptual solutions for unique, non-standard challenges.
- Collaborate with customers on requirements, concepts, cost estimates, and proposal presentations.
- Develop comprehensive quote packages that meet all technical and customer specifications.
- Work closely with the sales and management teams to ensure technical alignment on projects.
- Present innovative concepts to customers, emphasizing competitive advantages.
- Oversee the internal proposal design process.
- Travel up to 25% to visit customers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent industry experience (Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering preferred).
- 5+ years of experience managing successful automation projects.
- Strong background in quoting, sales, and customer interactions.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of electrical and pneumatic control design; robotics
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical design drawings.
- Skilled in estimating time, material, and cost factors for system development.
- Experience with Salesforce.com is a plus.
