Job Description:

Working with Center administration, this position will assist with Title VI National Resource Center (NRC) projects and data collection, sponsored program management, budget management of the Title VI-NRC project, as well as other special administrative projects related to the Center’s outreach efforts and specific sponsored projects and grant programs.

Project Management

  • Provide budget oversight and management of assigned projects.

  • Serve as the liaison between US DOE Title VI Program coordinator and UF faculty/staff.

  • Manage Title VI budget. Monitor for expenditures, projections, and spending progress. Request budget allocations when necessary.

  • Provide guidance on grant guidelines/regulations.

  • Prepare reports for assigned projects.

  • Assist with proposal writing and budget preparation on Center based funding programs.

  • Process contract and grant related documents for the agencies or for payment.

  • Handle IRIS approvals for Title VI grant international travel.

  • Provide travel logistics support to faculty and/or students when needed. This may include arranging and purchasing airfare, lodging, and/or ground transportation.

  • Complete and submit travel paperwork to Center fiscal staff for all travel that this position coordinates including submitting internal paperwork, collecting receipts, and following up with travelers if needed.

Special Projects

  • Assist with management of special projects, such as the Title VI suitcase program; Virtual Connection Network/Virtual Exchange Projects; database for alumni/career connection activities.

  • Coordinate and provide support for sponsored program related travel competitions such as the Field Research Grants and Library Travel competitions and possibly faculty and student conference travel. This will include acting as the liaison between the applicants/applications and Center assistant/associate directors, the Center director, and others involved with the awards.

  • Provide support for the Florida-Brazil International Linkage Institute by handling the administrative student application process.

Data Collection and Management

  • Collect, track, and maintain records of events including number of attendees and any Title VI data required for events, including those the Center has co-sponsored with other units.

  • Manage data collection and maintain records for assigned projects, which may include contacting other units for information.

  • Assist in identifying areas where data can be collected for current and future sponsored projects and proposals.

Outreach and Events

  • Ensure all paperwork associated with outreach events and projects is submitted and completed

  • May supervise or assist with supervision of the Outreach graduate assistants.

  • Process grant and contract documents related to outreach to ensure grant policies are followed.

Expected Salary:

$19.16 to $21.55 per hour, starting off

Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma and four years of appropriate experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese; Excellent written and oral communication; Strong interpersonal skills; Knowledge of Latin American Studies (social sciences, history, humanities); A background in handling federal grant programs, particularly the US DOE Title VI program; The ability to self-start, work independently as well as work well in team environment.
