We are a leading custom, complex, structural steel company looking for an experienced welder. We design and fabricate massive structural steel fabrications and custom projects, including bridges and highways. Essential Functions:
Employee must be able to produce acceptable groove and fillet welds on code and non-code work in the flat, vertical and horizontal positions, mainly utilizing the FCAW process.
Employee must have at least 3 years' experience in GMAW, FCAW and SMAW welding processes.
Employee must be able to pass standard fillet break tests and bend tests on groove welds and to be trained and certified in multiple positions and processes including welding on fracture critical materials.
Employee must be experienced in the use of grinders and other hand and power tools normally used in the welding industry.
Job requires being able to work in an open-air environment during many types of weather conditions while intensively stooping, bending, lifting and reaching.
Employees are required to report to work able to perform their duties in a drug free state.
Job requires a good level of hearing and vision for both the employee's safety as well as the safety of those working around the employee.
Report to work on time and complete entire shift.
Must exhibit safety values consistent with State and Federal rules and regulations as well as adherence to the companies' safety policies. Must maintain a clean and safe work area.
Must be able to listen attentively to supervision and follow direction accurately and timely, while working on a team.
Must be able to learn from supervision, mentors and day to day work practices in a timely and accurate manner. Employees must have good accurate communication skills in both directions listening to supervision as well as communicating back to supervision.
M-F; 6a-2:30p for 40 hour week. Gibsonton or Brandon locations. When working overtime, hours are M-F 6a-4:30p plus occasional half day Saturday.
ONLY CLASS A WELDERS.
Weld test taken at facility are scheduled T, W, or Th at 8am. Tests can take up to 3 hours.
