Purpose of the role
To manage the layout and utilisation of workplace services and drive the technological innovation of workplace tools to improve the employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with key CRES, GTIS, CSO, and business stakeholders to develop workspace design that balances cost, quality, and meets the future needs of our colleagues.
- Engage with proper architects and consultants to understand trends and benchmarks to influence workplace design standards.
- Provide design governance and playbook to drive consistent workplace and amenities to ensure best outcomes for colleagues.
- Continue to measure and evaluate workplace performance to evolve flexible design standards to meet business needs.
- Engage early in the site selection process to validate which location best suits the business occupancy needs.
- Engage with key business stakeholders at the start of each capital project to collect workplace requirements and vision and ensure consistency of design standards and requirements.
- Partner with the ESG communities to ensure workplace solutions encompass the needs of those groups when appropriate.
- Development of employee experience strategies through surveys and engagement initiatives to enhance engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
- Development of initiatives to improve colleague experience, productivity, well-being, engagement, and workplace utilisation underpinned by technology solutions.
- Identification of innovative workplace tools to drive continuous improvement, productivity, and collaboration, and support the implementation process.
- Development and maintenance of business intelligence data including workforce analytics, industry benchmarking, performance metrics, employee satisfaction, and space utilisation, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Provide expert advice to senior functional management and committees to influence decisions made outside of own function, offering significant input to function-wide strategic initiatives.
- Manage, coordinate and enable resourcing, budgeting and policy creation for a significant sub-function.
- Escalate breaches of policies/procedures appropriately.
- Foster and guide compliance, ensuring regulations are observed and relevant processes are in place to facilitate adherence.
- Focus on the external environment, regulators, or advocacy groups to both monitor and influence on behalf of Barclays, when appropriate.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of how the function integrates with the business division/group to achieve overall business objectives.
- Maintain broad and comprehensive knowledge of industry theories and practices within own discipline alongside up-to-date relevant sector/functional knowledge, and insight into external market developments/initiatives.
- Use interpretative thinking and advanced analytical skills to solve problems and design solutions in often complex/sensitive situations.
- Exercise management authority to make significant decisions and certain strategic decisions or recommendations within own area.
- Negotiate with and influence stakeholders at a senior level both internally and externally.
- Act as the principal contact point for key clients and counterparts in other functions/business divisions.
- Mandated as a spokesperson for the function and business division.
