Autonomous technology solutions are critical enablers for recreational marine, alleviating barriers for entry and reducing anxiety in traditionally stressful operational scenarios. Essential Functions:

  1. Review and create the technical requirements, best practices, test and validation procedures for the software associated with marine applications, marine connectivity/IOT, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
  2. Oversee the software toolchains, interfaces, libraries for applications in the marine environment with consideration of current and future Brunswick environment.
  3. System Integration, V&V and Test Automation.
  4. Debug field issues and system engineering and complex integration issues.
  5. Oversee and draft requirements for software security, privacy and safety.
  6. Develop, integrate and test software that enables advanced HMI, rich user interface, ADAS and autonomous user features, considering flexibility for global architecture requirements and internal/external interfaces of the future as well as rapid learning cycles.
  7. Integration of software platform for marine connectivity, autonomy and ADAS features.
  8. Author software functional specifications and develop detail design documentation.

Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer engineering, computer science or related engineering field.
  2. Minimum of 3-5+ years of experience in a software development and/or software architecture role.
  3. Introduction level to protocols, BLE, Wi-Fi, Cellular/LTE, IoT, MQTT, WebSockets, CAN, NMEA2000, etc.
  4. Full stack development in React Native, Kotlin, Android, Java, Python, C/C++, embedded development proficiency.
  5. Agile software development best practices and tools - Jira, Github, Confluence, automated testing.
  6. Experience with requirement and issue tracking tools.
  7. Strong Critical Thinking and communications skills, verbally and written.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. B.S/M.S. in computer engineering, computer science or related engineering field.
  2. Experience with IoT and embedded systems.
  3. Experience with SDK development, platforming, autonomous/ADAS/propulsion software development and final project delivery.
  4. Experience with ADAS and autonomous sensors such as sonar, radar, lidar, and cameras.
  5. Experience in the marine environment.

Working Conditions:

This is a hybrid role with expectations to work onsite 2-3 days a week or as needed based on project needs.
