Description

The primary role will be to supervise and manage day-to-day activities of the Accounting Operations Team. Also, responsible for overseeing the operations of the team including cash ordering, branch capture, shared branching, ACH, and share draft functions.

Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Operations Team.
  • Supervise, coach, and train the accounting operations team, monitor workloads, objectives, and performance of those employees, and provide feedback regarding team performance to management.
  • Serve as the coordinator of the work plans related to accounting operations daily activities including all cash ordering, item capture, shared branching, ACH, and share draft functions.
  • Assist in the development and review policies and standard operating procedures and controls for the Accounting Operations Team.
  • Facilitate month end and year end closings according to deadlines, including review of operational reports and review and preparation of monthly journal entries as directed by the AVP of Accounting.
  • Recommend process improvement goals, objectives, and changes to policies and priorities for assigned activities in order to improve efficiency.
  • Ensure that all wire transactions are recorded on a timely basis, approve all transactions, and fund transfers are recorded and coded accurately.
  • Resolve problems, and make decisions involving ACH, item capture, official checks servicing, data input, and adherence to existing policies and procedures.
  • Serve as daily and ongoing backup staff for the cash ordering, item capture, shared branching, ACH, and share draft functions.
  • Assist with certain aspects of preparing for the internal audits, external interim audits, and annual audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Professional attitude, organized, detail oriented, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Knowledge of computerized financial applications.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Must be teamwork focused and a self-starter.

Education: A two-year college degree, or completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.

Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
