SUMMARY:
The Lead Engineer provides technical leadership to a Product Team, working closely with the Product Manager. The role is expected to become a master of their product's technical domain. The Lead Engineer collaborates with the engineering team and other resources that support their product team to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality solutions.
Position Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design and develop enterprise grade, high-volume web applications platforms and state of the art technical solutions
  • Provide hands-on guidance and mentorship to the development teams
  • Responsible for designing solutions, developing, implementing, maintaining and supporting components and interfaces
  • Lead project teams of Java/.net, Front-end, and Database developers, including mentoring, architecting, project management, breaking features into stories and follow through
  • Participate in design discussions and solution design sessions with product management and software development teams
  • Contribute to the evaluation, prototyping and selection of software solutions
  • Apply Test Driven Development practices and software quality measurement tools
  • Work with investment teams to understand business needs and create technical solutions
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • College Degree in CS/MIS or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience
  • At least 5 years of experience with Java/.net
SKILLS AND COMPETENTCIES:
  • Proven background working in a product team / Agile SCRUM environment
  • Understanding of how to use Jira in support of managing a feature backlog for a product team
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to produce work within a CI/CD pipeline
  • Deep understanding of REST and SOAP/XML APIs Candidate must have the ability to crisply communicate complex ideas to all levels of the organization.
  • Must be comfortable working in a highly dynamic work environment and able to begin assigned work with incomplete information.
  • Must have an analytical mind set, able to solve complex problems.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Traditional office environment with low-to-moderate office noise (computers, phones and business conversations). The position may be remote from main offices.
  • May require occasional travel.
  • May require flexibility in hours.
