The Role:
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Chef de Cuisine  with a fine dining background, particularly in Mexican cuisine. As the head of our kitchen, you will be responsible for leading a high-performance team, continuously elevating our menu, and ensuring consistent delivery of exceptional food. You’ll collaborate closely with restaurant management on all food and beverage operations, menu development, and cost management. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for culinary arts, a strong grasp of food and labor costing, and a commitment to nurturing the skills and careers of their kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food production.
  • Develop and enhance menus to reflect Cuerno’s culinary vision.
  • Manage food and labor costs to maintain profitability.
  • Collaborate with the management team on overall restaurant performance.
  • Mentor and train kitchen staff to continuously improve skills and performance.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards.

Qualifications:

  • Expertise in cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and premium ingredients.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, train, and develop a kitchen team.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, particularly in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with a proven ability to multitask effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with team members and engage with guests.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
