It fuels our passion and drives every decision we make.Job Posting TitleUnderwriting Manager - RemoteJob DescriptionThe Manager of Underwriting is responsible for managing the underwriting activities of a team of underwriters for existing clients at Prime Therapeutics. This position is responsible for serving as a consultant on matters pertaining to underwriting, performance guarantees, competitive pricing tactics, and other financial considerations. The Manager is also responsible for maintaining and applying knowledge of pricing strategies in the PBM industry.ResponsibilitiesOversees and coordinates workflow for the existing client underwriting groupManages a team of underwriters in support of the underwriting process; responsible for guidance and development of direct reportsCoordinates modeling and tracking of revenue streams generated by existing clientsProvides support to Sales and Client Engagement, assisting in the development of client presentations and negotiations pertaining to pricing and guaranteesEngages with Sales and Client Engagement to provide input into the development of client specific pricing strategiesMonitors trends and identifies the need for new or revised procedures and practices to achieve profit, sales and retention objectivesParticipates in development of methodologies, models, and reports to support objectives of the positionDevelops key internal relationships with business partners to ensure efficient and effective business processes and transactionsOther duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Accounting, Finance or related are of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; HS diploma or GED is required6 years of related work experience and/or training1 year of leadership/people management experienceMust be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorshipAdditional QualificationsKnowledge of mathematical applications used in underwriting functions including the ability to calculate figures such as discounts, proportions and percentages, as well as the ability to apply basic concepts of business mathematics and algebra in underwriting problems.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one or small group situationsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to communicate effectively with Senior Leadership TeamWorks well under stressful situations with competing deadlines and goalsAbility to thrive working as an individual or in a team settingPreferred Qualifications2 years of experience as a Senior Underwriter or Benefits ConsultantPBM experienceMinimum Physical Job RequirementsConstantly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, talk and hearFrequently required to reach with hands and armsOccasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouchOccasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focusReporting StructureReports to Director Underwriting in the Finance departmentPotential pay for this position ranges from $94,700.00 - $151,300.00 based on experience and skills.
