Leadership role accountable for claim handling for a state or states. Executes claim strategy objectives adhering to established standards of work which enhance loss costs, expense and customer satisfaction performance. May specialize in liability, property or catastrophe claim.
Position Compensation Range:
$144,000.00 - $245,000.00Pay Rate Type:

Primary Accountabilities
- Creates a collaborative, performance-driven work environment by facilitating and fostering trust, transparency, and inclusion. Works with team members to set clear goals, provide feedback, perform performance assessments, and support ongoing development.
- Leads with influence and expertise. Actively contributes to division or department leadership team. Communicates and supports organization mission, vision, values, policies, and practices.
- Ensures that established claim handling practices are followed, to provide a common, consistent approach to managing claims.
- Maintains a working knowledge of state specific financials and collaborates with Claim Product to make strategic decisions regarding necessary changes.
- Oversees high impact claim situations which have organizational or public relations significance.
- Partners with agency to provide seamless customer service. Jointly agrees on opportunities for process improvements and oversees the implementation of action plans to address them.
- Directs the administration of settlement or disposition of claims filed in the state in compliance with unfair claims practices acts and assures handling of claims in good faith. Adheres to corporate claim standards, company claim bulletins and the company code of ethics.
- Partners with senior management in the development and implementation of claims policies and business strategy. Develops, recommends, and implements plans, policies, and programs for claims management activities to assure compliance with state and federal law. Partners with peers to ensure process consistency and alignment with the use of data/analytics/reporting.
- Serves as a resource to staff and others for information and guidance in using the claims system, and for making proper and timely claims decisions. Resolves customer complaints, problems and coverage questions which cannot be handled by team members.
- Leads and participates in special projects as directed.
Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage Claims operations and service delivery.
- Demonstrated effective management or leadership experience.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of claims concepts and strategies.
- Solid experience with building collaboration to create alignment across all levels of key internal and external stakeholders.
- Solid knowledge of the insurance industry and Claims environment best practices.
- Solid knowledge of claims operation business practices or and direction as well as familiarity with the Company's policies and resources.
