Take advantage of this moment to impact others positively and start a journey that is rewarding and significant!DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Corrections Activities Specialist for the Department of Corrections, you will be responsible for organizing, instructing, and supervising inmate programs, leisure time activities, inmate work crews and sports within your assigned institution.Your duties will include scheduling, coordinating, and teaching programs at all levels of interest and ability in the areas of sports, games, creative and performing arts, and social recreation. You will be responsible for coaching or supporting the coaching of multiple sports, including basketball, soccer, and powerlifting, while also demonstrating fundamental sports techniques and the use of fitness equipment. You will also be responsible for supervising inmate organizations and self-help groups.Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40-hours per week Work hours are 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with 30-minute lunch. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please note, selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $63,343.00 (before taxes). REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A bachelor's degree with major course work in recreation and physical education; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
