Job Requirements / Description

General Description : Manage large and complex clients as the day-to-day contact. Activities include new and renewal marketing, fielding questions and requests, strategic planning and coverage review.

Responsible for providing excellent customer service and leadership to accounts.

Responsibilities :

  1. Manage a complex book of business with various funding methods, advanced contract features and structure that requires a higher level of experience, technical expertise and customization.
  2. Provide proactive, personalized support to assigned high-touch, most-complex Employee Benefits clients.
  3. Primary contact between clients and insurance carriers. Provide best in class service to retain clients and drive growth.
  4. Provide strong insurance technical expertise to clients and members of the Account Management and Sales Executive team.
  5. Manage client renewals. Negotiate terms and conditions with carriers on behalf of clients.
  6. Lead client meetings regarding renewals and utilization reports.
  7. Articulate client strategic plans based on OMNI solutions.
  8. Champion client cross-selling initiatives and develop customer accounts.
  9. Lead client interests in internal USI Technical Resources where appropriate.
  10. Represent client interests during internal USI account strategy meetings.
  11. Frequent in-person attendance at client meetings. Ability to provide guidance and performance information, with and without the Benefits Producer.
  12. Participate in peer review as both a participant and reviewer of standard and complex deliverables.
  13. Technical expert for clients and internal team members on all Compliance topics, including, but not limited to, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, 5500s and Health Care Reform.
  14. Communicate and integrate the USI OMNI Solutions into client management.
  15. Conduct on-site and virtual meetings to communicate or administer benefit plans for clients.
  16. Develop employee communications for renewal changes, enrollment procedures, miscellaneous benefit changes.
  17. Resolution support and oversight for employee issues such as contract clarification, enrollment and billing.
  18. Develop and deliver periodic training content to other service team members.
  19. Ownership for multiple initiatives and special projects to support the service team.
  20. Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, vendors, and clients.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  1. 6+ years of experience in employee benefits industry or related marketplace. College degree preferred.
  2. Expert understanding of Employee Benefits.
  3. Must hold life and disability insurance or obtain it within 4 months following date of employment.
  4. Comfortable with internet-based programs and Microsoft Office products.
  5. Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  6. Able to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.
  7. Able to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.
  8. Able to define problems and generate potential solutions.
  9. Keep informed about industry information, technology and trends.
