Position Overview: Classroom Monitors create and maintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning and provide positive educational experiences for all students. The Classroom Monitor does not necessarily replace an absent teacher. Examples of roles include Virtual Lab monitor, Internal Suspension assignments, and positions funded by IDEA for additional support in ASD cluster programs.
Pay Rate: $15.00/hour
Minimum Requirements:
- Transcript from an accredited college showing at least 60 semester hours of completed coursework.
- Required letters of reference, minimum of two. References must be signed and dated, with one reference from the candidate’s last employer or cooperating teacher (for education graduates).
- Substitute Teacher Training On-Boarding Course – Optional.
- Upload Sub Diploma certificate for the STEDI Subskills Online Training Course.
The STEDI SubSkills Online Training Course is designed to provide valuable knowledge, skills, and materials to empower you for success in the classroom. There is a cost associated with this training of $39.95, which will be the responsibility of the applicant. This cost will not be reimbursed by Broward County Public Schools.
This training will cover classroom management, teaching strategies, special education, and other essential information for becoming a stellar substitute teacher, including legal aspects of the job and handling confrontational behavior from students.
