POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Sr. Reporting Accountant will be involved in a variety of financial accounting, internal and external financial reporting.
Reports to: Assistant Controller
Works Closely with: OPKO Health, Inc. staff and its Subsidiaries
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual analyses to support financial reporting including but not limited to revenue and operating expenses analyses and management performance reports.
- Responsible for the internal reporting presentations to management.
- Prepare overall analytics and provide explanations above the scope or unusual and/or inconsistent trends.
- Review overall analytics for the international subsidiaries.
- Prepare work papers and documentary evidence developed in support of the SEC fillings.
- Assist in the preparation and drafting of SEC forms (10Q, 10K).
- Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
- Assist and support the internal and external audit and quarterly review process by resolving questions and providing requested schedules in a timely manner.
- Maintain up-to-date process documentation, recommending and implementing process improvements, as appropriate, to simplify, standardize and streamline efforts.
- Other special projects as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices; previous general accounting experience.
- Attention to detail and accuracy, ability to plan and organize, strong communication and problem solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of Excel and Word, experience with ERP system (MAS 500 preferred).
- Proven professional experience in accounting and automated financial reporting systems.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
