SEA, Ltd. is a nationally recognized forensic engineering firm, seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to join our Corporate office. This is a full-time opportunity with an exceptional company!

S-E-A Columbus, OH (Hybrid - 5 days in office to start with some remote days once fully trained)

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable function ensuring vendors get paid on time and accurately
  • Knowledge of purchase orders and related accounts payable documentation
  • Ability to understand and interpret vendor invoices, statements, and other requests for payment
  • Process and review invoices and payments with a high degree of accuracy
  • Set-up new vendors, terms, and update addresses
  • Ability to work with multiple levels of management, vendors, and other employees within the organization and to appropriately communicate sensitive and confidential information
  • Calculate and process sales and use tax payments
  • Provide vendor record and 1099 management
  • Ensure proper invoice GL coding and system entry
  • Work with Controller and bank on vendor payments
  • Resolve escalated accounts payable issues
  • Reconcile accounts and statements
  • Assist with annual internal and external audit requests
  • Record month end journal entries for reconciliations and accruals
  • Assist with annual internal and external audit requests
  • Preparation for year-end review
  • Perform other accounting duties as necessary

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field
  • 3+ years of work experience in accounting that includes processing high volume accounts payable transactions
  • Understands ERP workflow functionality and payables processes
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Excel
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain deadlines
  • Communicate effectively and professionally in both oral and written communication
  • Must have strong organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills and attention to detail

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to listen and communicate over the phone
  • Ability to perform keyboard entry
  • Ability to sit at computer for extended periods of time
