Job Description

The Accountant provides financial, administrative, and clerical services to ensure accuracy and efficiency of operations. This position will process and monitor incoming payments and reconcile invoice statements. The scope of responsibilities is not limited to items listed below; the position is also responsible for cash management and works alongside the Chief Financial Officer on financial reporting and unique projects.

Functions:

  1. Process 1099 related payments and end of the year tax processing.
  2. Maintain financial records, such as purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
  3. Prepare payroll journal entries under supervision.
  4. Record day-to-day financial transactions and verify that transactions are accurate.
  5. Reconcile all accounts, review inputs for accuracy and prepare periodic reports and journal entries, as needed.
  6. Maintain all required business documents for operational and tax purposes.
  7. Support the Finance and Accounting Department in budgeting, forecasting, and other related activities.
  8. Analyze lease agreements in accordance with ASC 842 standards.
  9. Provide explanations for variances in financial statements.
  10. Vendor reconciliations and other required reconciliations.
  11. Research when accounting issues arise.
  12. Maintain and update Excel schedules for general ledger accounts.
  13. Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  14. Collaborate with AP and AR for problem-solving.
  15. Aid in the oversight of the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
  16. Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  17. Assist and coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
  18. Complete special projects as requested by the CFO.
  19. Perform additional duties assigned by management.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent major.
  2. CPA preferred.
  3. Experience for a minimum of 3 full cycles of accounting years.
  4. 2+ years of QuickBooks experience.
  5. Strong Excel skills.
  6. NetSuite and QuickBooks experience preferred.
  7. Strong understanding of US GAAP accounting principles.
  8. Ability to multitask with superior time management skills.
  9. Ability to prioritize effectively and drive project completion.
  10. Ability to keep department items confidential.
  11. Detail-oriented with meticulous data entry skills.
  12. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
