We are looking for innovative and dynamic professionals with a passion for exceptional service to join our Business Banking team as a Business Relationship Banker.
What You'll Do.
The Business Relationship Banker position is responsible for increasing commercial services memberships, checking, deposits and electronic business services as well as providing commercial loan referrals and supporting our business partners. You will participate in various community activities to bring awareness of our commercial services to local business Chamber functions, Open Houses, etc. in the community, and business networking activities. Provide assistance to partners within SECU to deepen existing and broaden new relationships.
  • Identify and implement business activities to acquire new business loans and accounts while retaining and managing existing business relationships.
  • Directly identify business loan leads and forward loans to the Business Relationship Officer.
  • Attend business functions to promote SECU's products and services.
  • Network with local chambers and business organizations to promote SECU's business services.
  • Meet quarterly loan and account goals.
  • Work with Financial Center Managers and SECU business partners to serve the needs of our members.
  • Directly responsible for implementing strategies to acquire new business accounts and promote our services to business owners.
  • Interpret CU policies/procedures as they affect members, announce and explain new and existing SECU services and help resolve business member concerns.
  • Identify and qualify potential businesses/ groups within SECU's Field of Membership.
  • Address and resolve potential member concerns.
  • Provide information and recommendations for the strategic sales & service plan and corporate business plans to Commercial Sales Manager.
  • Various programs projects involving member development require the support/expertise of Marketing, IT and several operational departments throughout SECU.
  • Understand fully and stay Informed of all business and member services offered by SECU and through third party vendors and promote these services with business members and potential business members.
  • Follow up on contact referrals from Financial Centers.
  • Assist with the education of Financial Center staff on business products and services.
  • Provide service and support to Financial Centers and existing business relationships.
  • Track weekly sales progress, update Commercial Sales Manager and Salesforce and prepare reports as requested by manager.
  • Establish and maintain an on-going relationship (partnerships) with business owners through a regular contact program.
  • Perform business lending site visits.
  • Meet and or exceed all pre-established SLAs.
  • Manage risk in daily business activities
  • Proactively identifies and escalates concerns and issues with a sense of urgency.
  • Make timely and fact-based recommendations and decisions.
  • Ensure all required training is completed prior to deadlines.
  • Work on collections/delinquencies, workouts, modifications and hardship requests as needed.
  • Aling performance with SECU's overall strategies and business operation.
  • Demonstrate financial expertise and knowledge of SECU's products and services and their value to members.
  • Communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) using clear, concise and simple language.
  • Be direct and straightforward when communicating to both internal associates and external members.
What We're Looking For .
  • 3-5 years of Business and Consumer financial services background preferred, with emphasis on Business to Business sales.
  • Minimum of A. A. degree. Courses in Business, Marketing, Communications, related sales coursework a plus
  • Strong sales and interpersonal skills, demonstrate positive attitude, professional appearance
  • Proficient with MS Office - Word, Excel and PowerPoint; and sales tracking (Salesforce a plus) and database management software
  • Superb communication skills - both verbal and written to prepare and deliver presentations
  • Excellent organizational skills; the ability to work independently and problem solve, multi-task, work under pressure and support and achieve specific corporate goals
  • Ability to build rapport with individuals and to negotiate
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to think outside of the box. Creative solution provider.
  • Team oriented, collaborative. Ability to foster relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Microsoft Office (to include Outlook, Word, Excel)
