How You Will Make an Impact:

 

As a Level IV Truck Install Technician , you will work closely with the Shop Supervisor to install and upfit specialty truck equipment, including but not limited to dump bodies, crane bodies, bumper cranes, and electrical/hydraulic systems. You will also mentor and train other technicians while ensuring high-quality installations are completed efficiently.

Your role will help drive our success by utilizing your advanced technical skills and knowledge in electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install Specialty Equipment: Perform advanced installations of dump bodies, crane bodies, and other truck equipment.
  • Mount Components: Install hitches, bumpers, ladder racks, mud flaps, back-up cameras, and more.
  • Electrical and Hydraulic Work: Wire inverters (greater than 1500W), install strobe lights, troubleshoot and install electrical/hydraulic systems.
  • Build and Lead Complex Upfits: Lead and execute more complex upfits independently, including advanced hydraulic and electrical builds.
  • Training and Leadership: Train and mentor other technicians, leading upfit builds and overseeing quality control of installations.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure adherence to company standards.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Handle any hazardous materials in line with company safety standards and complete necessary administrative tasks.
  • Other Duties: Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Shop Supervisor or Manager.

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Strong knowledge in electrical systems, hydraulics, and light welding.
    • Ability to read and understand schematics, including build, electrical, hydraulic, and upfit component schematics.
    • Experience with ECM/TCM knowledge and systems troubleshooting.
    • Proficient in operating crane systems (10K electric/hydraulic) and advanced knowledge in hydraulic installation and systems.
  • Leadership & Training:
    • Demonstrated ability to lead, instruct, and mentor a team of technicians.
    • Capable of overseeing complex upfits and troubleshooting independently.
  • Mechanical Aptitude:
    • Strong mechanical skills, including knowledge of mounting service bodies, bumpers, and accessories.
    • Experience with installing gas fill, DEF fill, Latch-Matic systems, and other standard products.
  • Quality Inspection: Ability to conduct thorough inspections and ensure all installations meet quality standards.

 

Required Credentials:

  • Education:
    • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Certifications:
    • ASE Certification preferred (may be required for higher tier levels).
    • Weld Certification and Quality Inspection experience preferred.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 4-5 years of relevant experience in truck equipment installation, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
  • Proven ability to lead complex upfits and troubleshoot independently.
