Sr. HR Generalist
SUMMARY: The Sr. HR Generalist/Specialist is responsible for payroll and benefits administration; and employee recognition programs. You will be responsible for performing various human resource functions as well as setting the example of an engaged employee and supporting employee engagement throughout the organization.
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Conduct employee on-boarding, background checks and help organize training & development initiatives
  • Act as the first point of contact for questions related to full employee life cycle, payroll, and benefits. Build relationships with Managers across all departments
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves, compensation and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Perform benefits administration which can include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees
  • Issuing Employment Verification Letters and coordinating with Immrigration team in solving Employee Work Status issues
  • Monitor Leaves of Absence, provide guidance to employees and their line managers on types of leave programs, ensure communication with payroll and accounts teams
  • Support performance management, corrective action improvement and separation processes
  • Plan and contribute to employee engagement programs and activities to include employee appreciation events and diversity and inclusion efforts
  • Working with Legal Counsel in enforcing Contract breaches like Non-Compete and Non Solicitation
  • Helping in building the Brand of the company by leveraging social media branding, and developing creative employee communications
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in human resources or related field with 5+ years of experience and preferably from Staffing / Consulting oriented experience
  • PHR or SHRM-CP is a plus
  • Hands on experience on principles and practices in HR administration
  • Working knowledge of various software packages (i.e., MS Office, ADP etc)
  • Hands on experience on Employee Benefit Programs like Medical, Dental, Sision, FSA, 401k, Life, AD&D, FMLA, COBRA, Disability, W/C, and Leave administration
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication

DETAILS OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Must effectively carry out the essential duties and responsibilities of this position. Other duties may be assigned.
1) Payroll Administration
  1. Responsible for timely, accurately and compliantly processing the bi-weekly payroll. Audit and process payroll documents. Process employee data for new hires, changes, additional earnings, etc.
  2. Processes employee Time & Attendance data to payroll and reconcile variances. Approve and release time in the time system.
  3. Prepares and maintains employee files, assuring accuracy, compliance and confidentiality.
  4. Maintains vacation and sick time records.
  5. Develops in depth understanding of payroll software and HRIS. Create reports on demand.
  6. Assists employees in registering for or resetting access to online portals.
  7. Responsible for month-end duties including approving HR related invoices and ensuring timely payment.
  8. Maintains vendor contact for payroll and recruiting and other HR related activities.
2) Benefits Administration
  1. As the Employee Benefits expert, administers all employee & benefit programs such as medical, dental, vision, disability, retirement programs and 401(k) plans. Process I-9/ E-Verify, workers compensation and coordinate insurance claims with benefits brokers. Responsible for:
  • Employee On-boarding: Provide in-depth benefit presentation for all new hires during the onboarding process. Distributes enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
  • Employee Service : Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes. Responds to benefits inquiries on plan provisions, benefits enrollments and status changes. Enrolls employees with carriers and processes life status changes.
  • Vendor Management: Works with HR benefit partners for escalated support needs, including but not limited to: plan design, claims administration and appeals, COBRA, retirement administration, and HRIS data integrity.
  • Employee Education: Prepare and set up meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits.
  • Wellness: Responsible for development and execution of Employee Wellness Program. Establish initiatives and programs that help employees attain optimal health. Organizes wellness events and provides resources for employees.

  • Plan Design : Works with brokers to conduct annual benefits review. Conducts research, analyzes plan options, conducts cost analysis and makes recommendations to stakeholders Develops census data and solicits insurance co. quotes.
  • Data Integrity : Ensures the accuracy of all benefit enrollments and provides vendors with accurate eligibility information. Updates HRIS database with new and changing information; ensures accuracy and integrity of information. Responsible for employee benefit file maintenance and storage retention requirements.
  • Employee Leaves : Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities. Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA. Makes recommendations to employee leave policies.
  • Employee Termination: Properly record, track and administer the steps needed to comply with COBRA law and appropriately deliver continuation of employee benefits.
  1. Organizes financial wellness sessions/events in support of employee financial education and wellbeing.
  2. Completes annual reporting for employee benefits: ACA,and 401(K) 5500 Unemployment, etc.
  3. Completes and submits unemployment requests from State enforcement agencies. Employee Recognition
  4. Plans and hosts employee celebration events.
3) Employee Recognition
  1. Plans and hosts employee celebration events. Coordinates recognition gifts for employee life events.
  2. Coordinates employee recognition, employee referrals, and Social media feedback awards.
4) General HR duties
  1. Drive the new employee onboarding/offboarding experience.
  2. Respond to employment verifications and surveys as needed.
  3. Ensure all required reporting, forms, and posters are up to date and maintained accurately.
  4. Participates in developing Human Resource department goals, objectives, and systems.
  5. Work with Legal Counsel in enforcing Contract breaches such as; Non-Compete and Non Solicitation.
  6. Other duties as assigned.
