Locum Tenens Physician Assistant Opportunity Near Eugene, OR We are currently seeking 2-3 Board Certified Physician Assistants (PAs) for a locum to permanent position in the Orthopedics Department near Eugene, OR. Position Details: Profession : Physician Assistant Specialty : Orthopedic Surgery Location : Near Eugene, OR Start Date : ASAP - Ongoing Rate Type : Hourly Shift Type : Days + On Call Weekend Requirements : On call rotation TBD On Call Requirements : On call rotation TBD Job Description: Full-Time : Day shift with on-call duties, the exact rotation to be determined based on the number of providers. Responsibilities : Perform comprehensive and problem-focused history and physical exams. Interpret and correlate laboratory and diagnostic procedures to formulate and implement treatment plans for orthopedic conditions. Order and perform diagnostic studies such as EMG, electrocardiogram, CT, MRI, and bone scans. Conduct procedures including digital blocks, regional anesthesia, tendon repair, wound closure, and fracture management. Assist in surgeries with duties such as first assisting, tissue closures, and application of appliances. Conduct hospital rounds, write orders, and assist orthopedic surgeons. Provide primary orthopedic call for patients in the Emergency Department and inpatient units. Evaluate and manage clinical conditions, prepare discharge summaries, and prescribe medications and orthopedic devices. Participate in research studies, quality assurance, and multidisciplinary rounding. Utilize the electronic medical record (Epic) for order entry and documentation. Skills and Abilities: Proficient with electronic health records and effective communication skills. Ability to work independently and perform well under stress. Strong customer service orientation and excellent critical thinking skills. Flexible, with the capability to prioritize and address multiple responsibilities. Physical and mental agility to handle various tasks and patient care needs. Requirements: Certification : Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery (Required) BLS and ACLS Certification (Required) State License : Active Oregon state license (Required) EMR : Epic Additional Information: Open to new graduates and experienced providers, though experience is preferred.
