Manufacturing operations reside in Hendersonville, NC, Pittsburgh, PA, Plympton, MA, Christiansburg, VA, Acuna, MX and Tijuana, MX.
Job Description
The Cloud Platform Engineer is responsible for overseeing the software development and deployment processes are efficient, reliable, and secure. They work with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to integrate software development and IT operations, and to streamline the software delivery pipeline.
This position is based on-site in Austin, TX.
The following are some of the typical job responsibilities and requirements for a Cloud Platform Engineer:
Responsibilities:

  • Providing guidance and leadership to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of software products.
  • Develop and maintain a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and agile development within the team.
  • Work with developers to optimize the software development process, integrating automated testing, continuous integration, and deployment, and other DevOps best practices.
  • Oversee the deployment and management of infrastructure and applications in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) using infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Formation).
  • Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting solutions for production systems, ensuring high availability and rapid response to incidents.
  • Manage and maintain DevOps tools and processes, including source control (e.g., Git), build and deployment automation (e.g., Jenkins, Travis CI), configuration management (e.g., Chef, Puppet), and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Work with security teams to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards, and implement security best practices in the software development lifecycle.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, IT operations, or DevOps, including at least 2 years of experience managing a team.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps concepts and practices, such as continuous integration and deployment, infrastructure-as-code, and containerization.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and associated services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda).
  • Proficiency with programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Ruby).
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and processes, including source control (e.g., Git), build and deployment automation (e.g., Jenkins, Travis CI), configuration management (e.g., Chef, Puppet), and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to think strategically about complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Compensation
The position has a compensation package inclusive of base, bonus (if eligible), benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more. This salary range is 160,000-180,000.
