Job Summary: The Director - Business Banking Sales is responsible for the leadership and management of a team of Business Banking Relationship Managers focusing on new business development, portfolio management, credit quality, relationship expansion, and overall relationship management of their assigned client portfolios. Customer revenues can range from five million to thirty million, with loan sizes up to $10mm or more. This position partners with Commercial Banking and supports Consumer Banking Leadership, Market Leaders, and Small Business Banking Consultants to expand lending and deposit portfolios.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Hires, trains, and manages a staff of Business Banking Relationship Managers.
  2. Monitors and coaches performance of team members, ensuring relationships are created and maintained.
  3. Leads the development of the team's network of clients and centers of influence.
  4. Serves as an escalation point for client relationships, addressing issues and ensuring smooth transactions.
  5. Partners with the Head of Small Business and Consumer Banking Leadership Team to create strategic plans.
  6. Ensures proactive monitoring of credit quality and compliance with reporting requirements.
  7. Responsible for talent management functions including performance evaluations and staff development.
  8. Manages a direct expense budget and adheres to regulatory and compliance policies.

Job Requirements:

  1. Education: Master's Degree (or Postgraduate equivalent) in business, finance, or related field.
  2. 10 years of experience in commercial lending/business banking lending/small business lending.
  3. 15 years of Sales Leadership experience in Commercial Sales/Business Banking Sales/Small Business Sales.
  4. Working knowledge of SBA programs and Treasury Management Sales preferred.
  5. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  6. Strong leadership, management, coaching, and analytical skills.
  7. Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and industry trends.
  8. Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.

Pay Range: $140,622 - $186,324 - $232,026
