POSITION DESCRIPTION AND SUPERVISION:
College Achieve Public Schools is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator for the time period of January 2025-June 2025. The Human Resources Coordinator reports to the Director of Talent Acquisition and Development and would support the HR needs of College Achieve employees across its network of schools on a leave replacement/temporary status. The Human Resources Coordinator will receive direct and general supervision from the Director of Talent Acquisition and Development. The Human Resources Coordinator will work in collaboration with Operations Directors, School Business Administrator and School Principals. This role is remote.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Hiring, Contracts and Onboarding
- Support HR team to ensure new hire requirements are complete, including background checks, employment eligibility verification, etc
- Coordinate with data team and school operations teams to ensure new hires have emails and login credentials to appropriate operations and curriculum websites and applications
- Monitor and process employee applications for tuition reimbursement
- Ensure accurate and timely implementation and work cooperatively with staff on federal and state leave requests such as, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and New Jersey Family Leave Act and other return to work issues
- In collaboration with the School Business Administrator, ensure accurate reporting of retirement and pension contributions
- Updating all new hires, leave of absences, and separations on the monthly Board Agenda in conjunction with the School Business Administrator
- Prepare, record and distribute correspondence, forms, contracts, letters of intent and reasonable assurance letters
- Collaborate with the executive team on all employee-related CAPS events, retreats, training courses and volunteer opportunities.
- Provide additional support to the HR team with overall staff safety regarding potential workplace injuries and process Worker's Compensation claims
- Ensure all legally required postings are updated annually
- Coordinate employee assistance programs
Knowledge and Ability:
- HR administration, managing and implementing HR processes
- New Jersey employment law and teacher certification requirements
- Research, data compilation, database management, recordkeeping and reporting techniques.
- Proficient in Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel
- Coordinate with multiple departments and school leaders
- Utilize computers and other forms of advanced technology
- Prepare clear and accurate records, correspondence and other written materials.
- Organize work, set priorities
- Interpret, apply and reach sound decisions in accordance with applicable law, rules, regulations, policies and district procedures
- Exercise sound independent judgment within areas of responsibility
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Human Resources from an accredited college or university
- 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources
- Advanced degree in Education, or Organizational Management, or Business Administration, or Human Resources
- Knowledge of K-12 public school operations
- Knowledge of NJDOE EdCert Portal and the New Jersey Certification process for teachers
- Current valid New Jersey Driver's License
- Interact with a wide variety of individuals
- Working hours may be irregular and vary, including nights and weekends as needed.
- Lift and carry up to 40 lbs. Indoors and outdoors work.
- Prolonged periods of standing, bending, leaning, or sitting.
- Travel between buildings on campus, to centers, and off-campus locations.
