Job Description:

The Senior Principal Engineer position is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing new product technology. Leveraging advanced knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and procedures and integrating complex elements from various specialties, this role is at the forefront of innovation. The Senior Principal Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams while contributing to achieving strategic goals and providing innovative solutions. This role develops new techniques, concepts, theories, or solutions and applies them to strategic goals.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the design, development, and innovation of new product technologies by providing technical leadership and expertise to multidisciplinary teams.
  2. Spearhead the identification and evaluation of relevant emerging technologies.
  3. Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance product performance, fostering a culture of continual and proactive improvement.
  4. Collaborate with key stakeholders to define product requirements and specifications.
  5. Initiate new project concepts, develop technical proposals, and make presentations.
  6. Oversee prototyping, testing, and validation phases to ensure product reliability and compliance.
  7. Conduct comprehensive analyses to optimize product performance while minimizing risks.
  8. Guide engineering colleagues in performing analyses and experiments, evaluating findings to develop new concepts and applications, while also serving as a mentor to foster their professional growth and development.
  9. Provide strategic advice and serve as a technical consultant to upper management, contributing to informed decision-making.
  10. Maintain comprehensive documentation and prepare technical reports for both engineering and upper-management audiences, capturing design choices, test results, recommendations, and strategic insights.
  11. Collaborate with project leadership to forecast project costs and delivery schedules.

Qualifications:

  1. BSc in Engineering or Scientific discipline; MS preferred.
  2. Experienced in the engineering development lifecycle.
  3. Demonstrated experience in coordinating technical activities.
  4. Proven relevant experience in R&D environments, particularly in product development.
  5. Excellent understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering and quality standards.
  6. A minimum of 12 years of experience.
  7. Knowledge and experience of medical device regulatory landscape is preferred.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $109,982 - $141,094 + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
