Excellent Infectious Disease Physician Opportunity in Prescott, AZ (90 minutes from downtown Phoenix, AZ)
Dignity Health Yavapai Regional Medical Group is seeking a full-time Infectious Disease Physician to join our established practice in Prescott, AZ. This role is a solo provider practice who works closely with hospitalists, wound care center, and infusion center, supported by 1 MA and 1 receptionist. The patient population is adults only, most patients are over age 50 due to the demographics of Prescott and surrounding areas. The most common conditions treated include infected joints, diabetic foot infections, Pulmonary MAC, and some bacteremia/endocarditis. This role does not treat HIV (managed by a state-funded clinic), hepatitis (treated by GI providers), or active TB (managed by the county health department). Approximately 75% of outpatient consults are from inpatients transitioning to our provider following care in the outpatient setting, which is the primary source of referrals.

Responsibilities
- This role involves 8 hours a week at the wound care center, consulting on patients when the nurses change their dressings, seeing 20-30 patients weekly.
- Outpatient: 30-40 office patients a week; provider currently spends 3-4 hours in clinic every day.
- Inpatient: 2-16 ID inpatients at a time; provider visits both hospital campuses to consult.
- Consults: Provides 4-10 inpatient consults on less busy office days (Tues, Thurs, Fri).
- Typical week: 40 - 50 hours, with 18 hours seeing outpatients, 8 hours at the wound care clinic, and 10-12 hours seeing inpatients. Variations occur based on the week.
- Procedures: Wound care/dressing changes; no cutting, puncturing, or aspirations.
- Call: Involves answering the phone and assisting with questions from hospitalists, receiving up to 8-9 calls daily, not all requiring patient consultation.
- Additional: The primary role is transitioning patients from inpatient to outpatient and assisting with their medications, labs, infusions, and wound care.
Qualifications
- BC/BE in Infectious Disease/Internal Medicine
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid state medical license or eligible to obtain as an MD or DO
- Valid DEA certificate
- New graduates considered
Pay Range
$141.34 - $118.34/hour
