Summary You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Technical Security Branch (Code 1125) of the Security and Fire Division (Code 1120) of the Executive Support Office (Code 1100) at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will be responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating, auditing, establishing standards, testing and supervising plans for various systems. You will be responsible for managing projects and programs for long-term replacement of security equipment and to develop preventative maintenance program for security systems and equipment. You will be responsible for preparing and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documents for complex security systems. You will be responsible for utilizing technical knowledge of engineering systems. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing plans for IDS, Police, and Fire communications, cabling site specific lighting, CCTV, audio, fiber optic and peripheral systems. You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues during installation and providing resolutions. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience developing, implementing, coordinating, auditing, establishing standards, testing and supervising plans for Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Automated Access Control System (AACS), Police and Fire Communications, cabling, site specific lighting, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), audio fiber optic and peripheral systems. Experience managing projects and programs for long-term replacement of security equipment and to develop preventative maintenance program for security systems and equipment. Experience troubleshooting in the identification and resolution of problems encountered during installation, grooming, or testing phases for security efforts and proving repairs as needed. Experience investigating electrical failures or damages and preparing reports including remedial action to prevent further occurrences expressing the shipyards opinions and recommendations on technical aspects of cognizant structures. Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance with "Nuclear" access. Work is primarily accomplished at NNSY in Portsmouth, VA; however, the incumbent may be assigned to other duty stations throughout the Hampton Roads area and in other temporary assignments in shipyards in other parts of the United States. Additionally, occasional travel to other headquarters (NAVSEA) locations, other Naval and private shipyards, or other industrial facility may be required in the performance of assigned work as well as travel to attending training or conferences. Such travel may include local and/or longer-distances requiring overnight/multiple night stays and travel via ground and/or air transport.
