As a Credit Analyst, you will perform comprehensive credit analysis, underwriting, and reviews; then provide and present overall assessments and recommendations as to the creditworthiness of both potential and current borrowers, while ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the overall credit risk assessment through the review of both quantitative and qualitative factors. This includes financial analysis of provided financial statements and reports, the identification and assessment of key risk factors and their potential mitigation, and the communication of overall credit assessments and recommendations for the review and approval of CIF’s Loan Committee.

Job Requirements:
  • Committed, personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related Business concentration preferred
  • Experience or training in a customer service-oriented setting.
  • Familiarity and experience with reviewing and analyzing organizational financial statements preferred.
  • Previous experience within a banking, credit union, or financial services environment preferred.
  • Sufficient analytical (both quantitative and qualitative) and financial/accounting/math knowledge and skills to perform duties, and to complete and provide evaluations and recommendations
  • Strong organizational, time management, interpersonal communication (both written and verbal), and attention to detail skills to perform duties and complete work with the necessary completeness, accuracy, and efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform credit analysis, risk, underwriting, and overall assessment reviews as assigned and in collaboration with internal team members in support of CIF’s Organizational Vision and Values. Including:
    • Analyzes and evaluates the financial condition of both potential and current borrowers; reviewing completed loan applications and supporting required documentation to develop an initial assessment of credit worthiness, including both strengths and weaknesses pertaining to a borrower’s current and historical financial condition.
    • Interacts and communicates with both potential and current borrowers as appropriate to obtain answers to additional questions/clarifications, and also supplementary information required to complete the assessment.
    • Prepares and presents overall credit assessments and recommendations, which include detailed financial statement analysis, giving and attendance trends, various organization/economic/market factors, project information if a construction credit, and in-depth analysis of the secondary sources of repayment such as collateral.
    • Interacts and collaborates with Business Development and Loan Committee members; communicates, presents and answers questions regarding prior approved credits and those outstanding and in need of approval.
    • Drafts and processes approved a preliminary and formal commitment to lend agreements, as well as preparation and processing of various related loan agreements, amendments, modifications, and other changes to original terms. 
    • Monitors and reviews certain identified and prioritized post-closing existing credits within the loan portfolio as needed; including monitoring of property insurance and collateral and the review and credit risk analysis of reported/discovered changes in borrower circumstances and their potential impact on prior credit assessments.
 
  •  Perform other duties as needs arise, including support and contributions towards CIF strategic initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness and customer experience.
