Overview
Every day, Susquehanna participates in millions of trades on exchanges around the world. Our operations team manages the infrastructure that allows these trades to move forward with speed and accuracy. How do we aggregate and analyze trading data to help make better future decisions? How do we ensure that we correct any trade breaks that would expose the firm to financial risk? How do we constantly improve the efficiency with which we complete the lifecycle of a trade? This is where our Operations Analysts come in.
As an Operations intern, you will be working closely with the trading desks and other teams that support our trading businesses. Throughout the ten week internship, you will work on a variety of analytical projects that impact multiple areas of the business and introduce you to current challenges facing our industry. Past projects include trading and profit + loss analytics, automation of operational processes, and research of new business opportunities. In addition to providing hands-on experience through daily tasks and project work, the program will introduce you to Susquehanna's formal education program through classroom training sessions focused on developing company specific knowledge and technical skills to facilitate process optimization. Topics may include options theory, game theory, decision science, programming (VBA, SQL, Python) and overviews of our trading desks and other areas of our business. You will also network with coworkers across the firm and build relationships with recently graduated mentors.
We look for people from a variety of backgrounds who have strong problem solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Some of our Operations Interns come in with a passion for the financial markets, some come in with programming knowledge. All come in with a curiosity and desire to grow and have an impact on Susquehanna's business.
