Job Description:

The Oregon Health Authority has a fantastic opportunity for a Health Policy & Analytics Deputy Director (HPPA2 classification) to join an excellent team. This is a full-time, permanent position with Health Policy and Analytics.

What you will do!

As the Deputy Director of HPA, you will work closely with the HPA director to develop, manage, implement, and evaluate the division’s strategic initiatives. You will lead and coordinate division initiatives, working with critical partners both internal and external to OHA, act as a primary point of contact for OHA leadership, the Governor’s Office, and partners. You will serve as the director’s delegate when the director is unavailable and attend meetings that would typically include the director when they are unable to be present. You will also work closely with the HPA director with an internal management focus, responsible for aligning offices and programs within HPA on a day-to-day basis to implement the state’s vision and strategy for health reform, ensuring decisions are consistent with the director’s vision and values.

Work Location:

The work location for this position is based in Portland or Salem in an office, cubicle, and/or an agreed-upon remote work environment with significant use of a computer and video conferencing. The work location may be changed at any time at the discretion of the hiring manager. Confidentiality of information must always be maintained. Occasional travel will be required.

This position falls under the HPPA2 classification . The AA Rate Pay Range for this position is $9,677.00 - $14,983.00 USD monthly.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and four years of management experience; OR Seven years of management experience.

  • Demonstrated skill in advanced program evaluation, performance reporting, and strategic planning.
  • Extensive experience in developing partnerships and strategic policy campaigns involving partners, local, state, and federal officials, and national partners.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills to effectively communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • High level of collaboration skills to foster cooperative interaction among staff and management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in handling inquiries and developing strategic responses from various partners.
  • Expertise and demonstrated ability to oversee and lead multi-disciplinary projects across division functions.
  • Track record of successfully managing and aligning division functions with strategic goals.

  • Advanced knowledge of health care policy and planning.
  • Expertise in program evaluation and strategic policy campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of budget formulation and legislative analysis.
  • Ability to lead and manage diverse teams effectively.
