Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of assigned programs, ensuring internal quality objectives are met, and serve as the primary customer interface.
- Schedule and track milestones for key program objectives, ensuring adherence to timelines.
- Perform preliminary reviews of DMRs, evaluating non-conforming material through QA process procedures.
- Manage drawing control and review activities, ensuring customer notification for document changes.
- Conduct product sell-offs, reviewing final work order test data to ensure compliance with performance standards prior to shipment.
- Facilitate supplier quality issue resolution by coordinating efforts across QC, Purchasing, and Engineering teams.
- Collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal departments to resolve quality issues and conduct internal/supplier surveys and audits.
- Analyze manufacturing performance and prepare quality trend reports for management, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Lead interdisciplinary teams to address quality issues, implementing formal corrective and preventive measures.
- Deliver oral and visual presentations during technical meetings, representing the quality function.
- Support additional objectives as directed by the Quality Director.
Education/Experience/Training:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of related Quality Assurance experience, or 10-12 years of consistent senior-level hands-on Quality Engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
- Preferred certifications in Quality Sciences (Lean, Six Sigma, ISO/AS9100, SPC, ASQ certifications, etc.).
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience interfacing with customers, vendors, and government agencies (DCMA, etc.).
- Experience with design, manufacturing, testing, and evaluation of electromechanical systems and mechanical hardware.
- Familiar with government and commercial Quality Assurance standards and Test & Evaluation protocols.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance and handle classified data.
- Flexibility to work extended hours and travel occasionally.
- Must possess manual dexterity, physical stamina, and the ability to move items up to 25 pounds.
- Exposure to various environments, including outdoor weather, mechanical parts, fumes, dust, and chemicals, may require wearing personal protective equipment.
- This role is integral to ensuring program quality and involves managing multiple quality-related functions, leading teams, and interfacing with customers and suppliers.
In compliance with California's Fair Pay Act, the salary range for this role in California is $70,500 - $130,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
