The Atlanta Area Council is currently seeking applicants for the position of Ranger at one of our council owned properties. The Ranger candidate must be willing to subscribe to and live by the basic tenets of the Scout Law and Scout Oath. Membership in the Boy Scouts of America is required. Servant leadership is mandatory in the Atlanta Area Council as our camps host tens of thousands of scouts each year in summer camp, winter camp, specialty programs, Wood Badge, NYLT, and Order of the Arrow activities. The Ranger candidate must be able to supervise hourly and contract employees as well as seasonal staff.
The applicant would preferably be an experienced Ranger with 3-5 years of service and looking for a new challenge. Expertise in one or more of the following categories is also required:
- Carpentry
- Plumbing
- HVAC
- Electrical
- Public sewer/waste treatment
- Forestry
- Heavy equipment operation
- Other relevant fields
This position will be a good fit for someone who is comfortable working long hours with minimal oversight, as well as nights and weekends. As with most Ranger positions, the candidate will be required to live on-site in provided housing. Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with the candidate’s level of experience.
