Position Overview: PROGRAM DIRECTOR

The Program Director will be responsible for the overall operation of the afterschool program, leading program operations, budget management, partner engagement, and programmatic evaluation. The Program Director will work closely with the Managing Director to create dynamic DYCD SoNYC afterschool programs, utilizing youth development best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Align Common Core curriculum and ASPIRA program curriculum to foster academic rigor in students.
  • Lead and support the curriculum development process following the mission of the organization.
  • Provide and ensure quality programming that fosters academic and social skills.
  • Collect and organize data to ensure that all program outcomes and milestones are achieved.
  • Plan and implement activities for students that build necessary skills for academic success.
  • Work closely with families to ensure the needs of students are met.
  • Maintain all required administrative records and files.
  • Ensure the database is updated weekly.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the Principal and school-based staff.
  • Collaborate with Principal, school-based staff, and parents to ensure program cohesiveness.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate all program staff.
  • Conduct monthly supervisory meetings with staff.
  • Attend monthly Site Director Meetings and participate in professional development training.
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the Managing Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field; Master's Degree preferred.
  • 4-6 years previous experience in a DYCD program in a leadership capacity.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a youth development role.
  • Dedicated to ASPIRA of NY's programs and goals.
  • Extensive experience with program development.
  • Ability to manage projects and contracts.
  • Ability to inspire positive teamwork.
  • Knowledge of OCFS policies & procedures a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English .
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in technology and familiar with Google suite.
  • Knowledge of New COVID-19 Interim Guidelines.
  • Ability to identify outside resources that enhance program activities.
  • Must pass pre-employment background investigation.
  • Adaptable to a hybrid work environment.
  • Must possess and maintain required technology for the position.
  • Physical requirements including ability to wear PPE and perform CPR.
  • Schedule flexibility based on pandemic management conditions.

Program Director will be required to report to the school building and interact with staff, students, parents, and school administration while following DOH and DOE Covid-19 guidelines.
