Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)

Location: 30 minutes north of Boston
Reports To: CEO
Compensation: Competitive salary, annual bonus, and participation in an equity incentive plan

Position Summary:
The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) is a newly established role responsible for shaping and executing the talent strategy to support the company’s business objectives. As a member of the Executive Team reporting directly to the CEO, the CHRO will play a critical role in driving the company’s success by attracting, developing, and retaining top talent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Talent Strategy Development: Create and implement a comprehensive talent strategy that aligns with the company’s long-term goals. Collaborate with executive leadership to assess current and future talent needs and ensure strategic alignment.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Lead the recruitment process, overseeing sourcing, screening, and hiring to ensure the acquisition of high-calibre candidates. Enhance onboarding processes to integrate new hires effectively.
  • Leadership Development: Design and implement leadership development programs to cultivate and advance internal talent. Identify high-potential employees and develop personalized plans to prepare them for key leadership roles. Partner with the executive team to establish robust management succession plans.
  • Employee Engagement & Retention: Develop and execute initiatives to boost employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention. Advocate for a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and ensure consistent messaging in company communications.
  • Performance Management: Oversee the performance management process, establishing clear expectations, providing feedback, and creating development opportunities. Implement performance metrics to enhance individual and team effectiveness.
  • Total Rewards: Manage and optimize competitive compensation and benefits plans to attract and retain top talent.

Ideal Candidate:

  • MUST have experience building out an HR function within manufacturing (ideally food & bev)
  • Extensive experience in talent management, including recruitment, leadership development, performance management, and organizational development.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate effectively both in hands-on situations and in strategic boardroom discussions.
  • Experience working with a Private Equity backed company
  • Experience leading the HR function through Mergers & Acquisitions in a manufacturing environment
