Profile:

A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their team in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, submitting, and reviewing various immigration applications, representing clients in immigration proceedings, conducting legal research, and ensuring compliance with ethical standards.

Duties:

• Prepare, submit, and review multiple immigration applications, including family and humanitarian-based petitions and removal defense.
• Represent clients before USCIS, EOIR, and the BIA.
• Collaborate with team members to develop case and legal strategies.
• Manage case filings and deadlines efficiently.
• Review, edit, and prepare briefs, cover letters, and case filings for USCIS.
• Conduct legal research to identify applicable statutes and judicial and agency decisions on unique legal issues.
• Stay updated on legislative changes that may impact immigration law.
• Develop solutions to complex legal questions.
• Adhere to all legal, ethical standards.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• JD from an ABA-Accredited Law School.
• Active Bar License in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Immigration Law.
• Experience with humanitarian relief (e.g., VAWA, U visa, T visa) is a major plus.
• Additional languages, such as Haitian-Creole, Spanish, and/or Portuguese, are a plus.
• Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
