An IT services company is looking to add a new Inventory Management Accountant to their growing team. In this role, the Inventory Management Accountant will be responsible for assisting with ensuring inventory controls and accuracy, improving systems and processes, work closely with multiple departments of the organization in addition to supporting warehouse operations located in Plano, TX, Brighton, MI, Rancho Cordova, CA, and Houston, TX.
Responsibilities:
The Inventory Management Accountant will:
- Maintain and ensure accuracy of the inventory system and its subledgers (UNIDATA and NetSuite)
- Reconcile UNIDATA (WMS) to NetSuite (ERP)
- Analyze, prepare and record journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations related to assigned inventory related accounts to support timely and accurately monthly financial close process
- Ensure proper accounting, internal controls, and account accuracy for all inventory locations
- Recommend process changes and system enhancements to maximize automated processes
- Develop strong partnerships with the Quality Control Department, Warehouse Management and staff, and within the Controllership group.
- Build, identify and report on inventory balances, issues and trends for Management
- Support external annual audit process
- Monitor and report warehouse cycle counting activities per policy
- Assist with the review of inventory reserve analysis (including obsolesce, scrap etc.)
- Assist with coordination and execution of annual Physical Inventory at all warehouse locations
- Perform ad hoc analysis, special activities, and projects as requested
- 3+ years of experience in a Public Accounting role/setting
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
- Microsoft Office Suite proficient, including strong to advanced excel skills over large amounts of data (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables and Charts)
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
- CPA or parts passed
- Prior experience with NetSuite
