Summary:
The Information Technology Intern develops competency in role to appropriately provide technical assistance and support for network, hardware and software issues with drive to meet deadlines.
The Information Technology Intern receives direct guidance and training from other Analysts, Engineers, System Administrators, and IT leaders. Demonstrates excellent customer service performance in that his/her attitude and actions are always consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and Values of Covenant HealthCare and the commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation.
Responsibilities:
• Provide technical assistance to staff and customers on hardware and software-related issues.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer systems, hardware, and software.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any issues.
• Follow established procedures and processes for computer maintenance.
• Provide training and support to team members on the use of computer systems and software.
• Maintain accurate records.
• Research and recommend solutions for technical problems.
• Works well with other departments to achieve goals.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
Other information:
Education/Experience
High School diploma and/or equivalent required and must be actively enrolled and pursuing associate or bachelor's degree. Within twelve (12) months of completing studies will be given higher consideration. Previous computer work experience is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
• Strong computing skills including a working knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, web browsing, issue tracking and email applications and/or a willingness to learn.
• Must demonstrate a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
• Must be a team player with the ability to work independently as well as in small or large teams.
• Demonstrates the ability to resolve problems timely and effectively.
• Must be detail oriented and have a skill for probing for information to fully understand the underlying needs that drive how the system should be built.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands
• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, handling, feeling, talking, hearing and near vision.
• Occasional lifting 0-10 lbs.
• Occasional reclining, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, squatting, crawling, twisting, reaching, far vision and depth perception.
