Family Medicine Physician / Hospitalist Opening

Location: Brainerd, MN – located at the center of Minnesota, 125 miles north of Minneapolis/St. Paul. Brainerd Lakes Area population: 65,000; Regional service area: 115,000.

PRACTICE SPECIFICS

On the Outpatient Side (roughly half-time)

• Our ideal candidate would be a flexible team player, looking to maintain a mix of both outpatient and inpatient medicine.
• We offer a multi-specialty, collaborative team that is focused on working hard and playing hard. This is a great opportunity, providing work-life balance in one of America’s greatest playgrounds.
• Roughly 8 days of clinic, spread over 3 weeks.
• Broad Primary Care Practice.
• Multispecialty Clinic with support from specialists and ancillary services.
• Clinic site has 5 Family Physicians.
• No OB, but prenatal care is an option.
• Telephone call 1:26.
• 16-22 patients per day.
• This position is to prepare for anticipated retirements.

On the Inpatient Side

• Half-time Hospitalists work 1, 7-on shift, per month.
• Partner with existing Hospitalist Program of both full and half-time providers.
• Schedule – 12 hours shifts with 2-3 weeks of nights; rest of the shifts are days.
• Hospitalists will cover ICU, with consultative intensivist support.
• Total number of physicians in specialty currently in department at practice site: 7. The practice is fully staffed with 8-9 hospitalists.
• Average inpatient practice volume per day: Med Surg-71 / ICU-10; divided between 3-4 rounding hospitalist, who also share admissions. Average daily census on unit: 50-60.

REQUIREMENTS

• Board Certified/Board Eligible Family Medicine.
