DescriptionThe Aluminum Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing the construction of aluminum boat hulls and related components in a boat manufacturing facility. This individual will assist with planning, organizing and setting up the shop to ensure efficient production of high-quality aluminum boats. The manager will be responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of the aluminum shop, including production schedules, material ordering, quality control, and employee supervision.Key responsibilities include:Managing and coordinating the construction of aluminum boat hulls and related components according to production schedules and quality standardsEnsuring all safety protocols are followedCreate requisitions for materials and supplies needed for productionSupervising and training employees in the aluminum shopAssist in conducting quality control inspections on finished products to ensure compliance with specificationsImplementing and maintaining efficient production processes to ensure timely delivery of productsCommunicating with other departments to coordinate production workflowsTroubleshooting any production issues that arise and implementing solutionsPlanning and organizing work schedules to meet production goalsManage certifications for welding teamRequirementsThe ideal candidate will have AWS Aluminum welding certification and experience in aluminum boat construction, strong leadership and communication skills, and a thorough understanding of production processes. They should also have strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience is typically required.
