Responsibilities of the Café Manager include, but are not limited to:

  1. We expect candidates to have a strong problem-solving ability, well-developed soft skills, think on their feet, and keep track of all that is going on even as they assist management with planning for future growth.
  2. Suggesting new menu items based on customers' preferences and feedback.
  3. Identifying strategies to retain and attract customers.
  4. Providing exceptional customer service, including resolving customer complaints regarding food quality and service.
  5. Preparing weekly work schedules for staff and finding suitable replacements in case of staff absence.
  6. Ensuring that all café expenses are within budget and identifying ways to decrease operational costs.
  7. Receiving delivered café supplies and verifying that the correct items and quantities have been delivered.
  8. Taking inventory of café supplies and ordering new stock as needed.
  9. Recruiting, training, and supervising café staff.

Café Manager Requirements:

  1. High school diploma; a bachelor’s degree or certification in business administration or management is advantageous.
  2. 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar position in a fast casual food & beverage service operation.
  3. A food handler's license and ABC RBS certified.
  4. Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
  5. Able to handle prolonged periods of standing.
  6. Ability to lift 15-50 pounds at a time.
  7. Ability to think on their feet, innovate, and resolve problems.
  8. Well-developed soft skills and people skills are highly desirable.
  9. Competent to remain calm under pressure.
  10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  11. Exemplary management, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  12. Ensure a safe, hygienic, and healthy environment.
  13. Ensure complete compliance with all associated laws and regulations.
  14. Strong business acumen and able to innovate, improve, think ahead, and be keenly analytic.
  15. Carry out weekly analytics and submit reports, suggesting improvements.
  16. Willing and able to work on weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  17. Perform any other duties as assigned and deemed necessary by the company.
