As the Director of Business Development for EV Solutions, you will be responsible for strategic growth and partnership creation within the L+G EV charging ecosystem for the North American region. Your role will involve managing the entire business development cycle from EVSE product development, identifying opportunities, demoing software, negotiating contracts, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders. You will leverage your expertise and knowledge of electric transportation and its impact on the grid, along with your experience in software and hardware sales, to create and close compelling deals. In addition, you will be responsible for developing business relationships in other EV areas like CPOs, real estate, energy management, and fleets to expand the L+G EV hardware and software charge management footprint. We’re looking for a motivated team player with a strong business development background who’s excited about advancing transportation electrification.
Key Responsibilities
- Play an active role in the client engagement process by gathering information, generating sales activity and conducting outreach to create sales opportunities for the Electric Vehicles (EV) team with existing and prospective clients.
- Research pursuits to aid management in business planning and strategy development.
- Conduct product/service presentations to prospective clients.
- Clearly articulate the value proposition and unique selling points.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet and exceed goals.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, competitors and market conditions to continuously improve sales strategies and tactics and expand market share.
- Provide feedback to the management team regarding market demands and opportunities.
- Provide regular reports on sales performance.
- Analyze sales data and market trends to develop effective sales strategies.
- Utilize market insight and trends to provide cost-efficient logistics solutions to customers.
- Collaborate with marketing, product development, and other teams to ensure alignment of sales efforts with overall company objectives.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans, programs, and marketing initiatives to achieve company goals and objectives for electric vehicles.

- Knowledge of Electric Utility industry load management, EV and EV fleet programs.

Education and Experience
- BA/BS preferred or equivalent experience.
- 7 - 10 + years of experience is required.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements/Safety/PPE/OHSAS
- Working Conditions: Typical indoor office environment with the majority of time spent sitting and working on a computer using keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Occasional use of other devices such as: phone, copier/printer/, etc.
- Driving Status: Driving as required for sales expansion.
- Physical Requirements: Typical office setting. Required to stand; walk; crouch; or handle objects. Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Ability to sit and view computer screen for long periods of time. The ability to see, hear, & speak in English. Reasonable accommodations provided for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Personal Protection Equipment/Other OHSAS-18001 Safety Requirements: Ensure the continued efforts and assist in achieving annual goals of health, safety, and environmental policies. Must be current with available OSHA/Safety Training provided by the Company. If required, must be able to work while wearing safety equipment such as hard hats, work boots, gloves, hearing protection, and others.
- Travel 50%+ per month.
Pay is in the range of $143,100 - $223,740 per year. The position is eligible for a 401(k) match and consideration for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.
