JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Purpose The overall purpose of the Housing Navigator is to ensure that all housing procured for the Transition in Place (TIP) program meets all the standards as provided by the Department of Veteran\'s Affairs (VA) and the TIP program. The incumbent will also coordinate and conduct outreach to various agencies, shelters, and community resource centers to find referrals of needy veterans for the TIP Program and conduct presentations for the TIP Program that promotes a better quality of life for veterans. Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree in social services and or a combination of education and experience in outreach and housing is highly preferred Minimum two years of experience in case management, life skills as well as conducting assessment and counseling services Experience working with Veterans is preferred Experience delivering services to SUD, COD, or homeless populations is also preferred Duties and Responsibilities Home Inspections Will inspect all units and their facilities prior to lease signing to ensure that: they are in compliance with HUD/VA Housing Habitability Standards, they meet the standards required by Life Safety Code, they meet all TIP program requirements including: private access without unauthorized passage through another dwelling unit or private property, sanitary facilities within the unit, and suitable space and equipment within the unit to store, prepare, and serve food in a sanitary manner, the apartment building has locks on all outside entrances and sufficient outdoor lighting 2. Other duties as requested or assigned Outreach Network with local shelters and providers serving homeless and at risk of homeless persons to identify veterans Coordinate volunteers with partner organizations for weekly, targeted outreach to serving homeless and at risk of homeless veterans including the DVA, homeless shelters, known homeless camps, Continuum of Care providers, community awareness events, and Homeless Stand-downs Conduct outreach and in-reach activities such as orientation workshops, presentations, and presentations of referral mechanisms at partner providers We are an EEOC/AA/ADA employer. ***** APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Apply Online: ipc.us/t/D77C889718E84C94
