A law firm is seeking an experienced and dedicated Insurance Defense Attorney to join their team in Weirton, WV. The ideal candidate will have 2-7 years of experience in insurance defense litigation. They will manage a diverse caseload, represent clients in court, and provide legal advice on insurance matters. Duties:
- Represent clients in various stages of insurance defense litigation, including pre-trial, trial, and appellate proceedings.
- Conduct thorough legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Manage a diverse caseload focusing on insurance defense matters.
- Provide clients comprehensive legal advice and guidance on insurance claims, coverage issues, and liability.
- Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation or arbitration proceedings.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers, and legal professionals.
- Ensure compliance with all legal standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management.
- Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings as necessary.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to insurance defense.
Requirements:
- 2-7 years of experience in insurance defense litigation.
- Admission to the West Virginia State Bar.
- Proven track record of successfully handling insurance defense cases.
- Thorough understanding of insurance law and legal procedures.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Active membership and good standing with the West Virginia State Bar.
