The Role:

About Lord Abbett:

Founded in 1929, Lord Abbett is an independent firm with a singular focus on the management of money. Over the course of our history, we’ve earned a sterling reputation for our leadership, influence, and innovation in the asset management industry. Today, our independent perspective, our commitment to active management, and our intelligent product design continue to make us relevant to individual and institutional investors.

From the very beginning, we’ve recognized that our people are our greatest asset. As an investment-led, investor-focused firm, we value intellectual curiosity, teamwork, and collaboration across the organization.

We’re looking for people with a keen interest in working for a trusted leader in the asset management industry, a desire to expand their knowledge, and a passion for delivering a client experience that exceeds expectations.

Now that you know our history, are you ready to be part of our future?

Lord Abbett is looking for a visionary leader to join our Corporate Communications Department as Head of Content Strategy & New Media. Collaborating with key stakeholders from across the organization, you will be responsible for executing our content strategy, ensuring that all creative work reflects and reinforces the Lord Abbett Story. You will help develop and execute engaging communication campaigns for our external and internal audiences through our omnichannel communications (e.g., websites, intranet, video, email, social media) that inform, motivate, and inspire; shape and strengthen the firm’s principles-led, performance-oriented, and purpose-driven culture; articulate and amplify the brand; and defend and protect our reputation. This role requires an individual with a passion for storytelling, a keen eye for design, exceptional writing talent, and an ability to conceptualize fresh creative ideas.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Lead and develop a team of communication professionals by modeling our firm’s culture and fostering an environment of creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide clear direction and feedback to internal teams and external creative partners to ensure alignment with brand standards and objectives.
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop strategically aligned, compelling, and engaging content campaigns that tell the firm story to internal and external stakeholders while ensuring proper implementation of the brand standards.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the firm’s products and strategy.
  • Write materials and manage content production in a way that is simple and easy to understand from start to finish, providing end-to-end guidance in the production process across all media (i.e., articles, emails, videos, podcasts, social, among others).
  • Comfortable working with C-Suite executives, but agile enough to roll up your sleeves and get in the weeds to ensure excellent execution.
  • Manage the creative budget, oversee external agencies in developing creative assets, and ensure that internal and external resources are utilized effectively to maximize results.
  • Work collaboratively to define KPIs, use data to inform our storytelling, and help develop monthly and quarterly metrics reports.

You'll need to have:

  • 10+ years of experience across brand, creative, marketing/communications.
  • Experience managing high-performing teams.
  • Knowledge of the asset management industry.
  • Excellent writing, creative, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong skills in organization, prioritization, and time management.
  • Detail-oriented and proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • BA/BS degree.
